Independent audit
Each reserve undergoes independent third-party verification before it is made available for adoption. The audit is carried out by a company with no corporate ties to Neutraza, under the principles of impartiality, independence and evidence-based decision-making. Separating the party that offers the reserve from the party that verifies it prevents conflicts of interest and underpins the credibility of the result.

Scope of verification
Before releasing an area, we review documents, the land's geometry and satellite imagery. Once approved, the reserve keeps being monitored by satellite and receives field visits on a sample basis.
Documentary due diligence
Confirms that the property exists, who owns it, whether the description matches what is being offered and whether the Legal Reserve is registered in the CAR (Rural Environmental Registry).
Area boundaries
Compares the submitted map with the verified area. If the boundaries differ, the reserve is not released for adoption until the issue is resolved.
Consistency with remote sensing
Declared information is cross-checked against satellite imagery of the same area to confirm vegetation cover. Documents and imagery must be consistent with each other.
Field audit on a sample basis
Some reserves, chosen by sampling, receive an on-site visit: the team checks the area and takes photos on location.
Follow-up after release
Quarterly update with a new reserve image and cover report, daily fire and deforestation alert checks, and an annual MapBiomas review.
What if there is fire or deforestation?
- We check INPE alerts (DETER and fire hotspots) and MapBiomas Alerta every day, cross-referenced with each reserve's boundary.
- If the problem is confirmed, we suspend the contract for the Guardian's entire area and stop the payments right away.
- Whoever adopted the area receives a notice. We are structuring the plan to recover the area or replace the lot with another equivalent hectare that has already been verified.
- The reserve is reassessed every quarter with a new image and cover report, plus the annual MapBiomas classification check.
Why audit?
The environmental offset market has grown fast, and not every project delivers what it promises. There are cases of credits with no matching forest, areas counted more than once and results no one can check. For supporters, the risk is putting money into a forest that does not exist or is not being protected. Independent auditing exists to close that gap: each reserve is only offered after its documents, area and vegetation cover have been verified. That is how Neutraza honors its commitment to Holders and Guardians, and to our planet’s natural resources.
Transparency of the result
The date and the audit opinion for each reserve are on the FRU’s public page, which opens from the certificate’s QR code. Anyone can look it up without signing up.
